Last Tuesday, I was one of about 15 bloggers invited to San Francisco by the Safeway Stores to learn more about their Just 4 You program.  I was excited to be able to join some others that I had only “met” online via Twitter and Facebook.  So off to San Francisco I headed over to the Marriott for a fun filled day.

Now I have to admit, I’m NOT a couponer.  Why?  Because I always forget them.  Every single time, they get left on the kitchen counter or on my bed.  So when I heard that there was a app for that, I was excited.  But we will chat more about that in a bit.

If you haven’t heard yet, Safeway’s Just 4 you is their revamp program to help Safeway shoppers save even more on their shopping bill.

Its a FREE program that is tied to your club card.  Its based on tracking the purchases that you already make to offer you more savings.  In order for the program to work properly, make sure that you are not sharing your club card with other folks (family members, friends, etc).  You can always call customer service to clean up your history and make it your own.

The program is broken down in a 3 parts:
The Coupon Center
Personalized Deals
Your Club Specials

The Coupon center is where you can locate your online manufacturing coupons (you have to load them).  You can also stack them with Safeway coupons (even more savings for your family).  No clipping required (WooHoo!) but you cant stack them with paper coupons.

The Personalized deals is based on your shopping history (this is why it needs to be YOUR shopping history) and is also my favorite part of this (well one of them….the mobile app is a close second)  Here you will find those unadvertised deals that all of the public may not know about. And you will also find some Freebies (freebies….for lack of a better word…is good lol)  Last week it was eggs, cant wait to see what is going on this week.

Your Club specials are the club specials that you would normally see in the store.  You can also stack paper coupons in this section of Just 4 You.

And now for my favorite part….The Mobile App!

As if your not already having fun with shopping with Just 4 U, you now get to see and use all of the components of the Just 4 U program on your smart phone.  The app is downloadable and works with Iphone, Ipad and Android (sorry Windows phone   )

The app gives you access to all three sections of the program as well as to your grocery list that you can also make on your computer.  No more printing out of a grocery list if you don’t want to.  Its all in the palm of your hand.

Safeway and its sister stores have a made a good program better.  At the time of this writing it was available everywhere except for Texas (coming soon) and they are continuing to work and update the app.  Oh and if you have a favorite store, they will be adding a floor plan so you don’t have to search for your savings.

All in all, I love this.  As a non couponing chick, this is easy to use and during our shopping trip, my  receipt said I saved 30% which ain’t bad.
