Day two. As the sun peeked over the horizon it brought us to the start of another day (you can read more about
Day one right here). It was also one of the longest days that was filled with sessions, a travel expo and a screening of Moms Nite Out. Before I forget, when you stay at the Hyatt Regency Orange County, when you check in via social media (Twitter, Instagram, etc.) you will hear from Hyatt Concierge.
Often. They are one of the best in making sure that all of our needs were taken care of. Don’t believe me? Check in and see how many tweets you get LOL.
After a few breakfast treats, we began our first session listening and learning from Peggy Bendel of Bendel Communications.
Her session was about blogging for love and press trips. One of things that stood out was the ways to ruin your reputation. Lots of good stuff and definitely one that, if you get the recordings, you should listen to over and over.
Doug Bowman, creative director of Twitter, was our next speaker giving us tips on how to rule Twitter.
His most helpful tip: if sending a message to a person but you want all your followers to see the message, add a dot before the “@” sign (ex: “.@margswrld whatever you have to say”) I had no idea.
Then came the Intro to Destination Marketing panel. The panel consisted of Dan Quandt, Visit Amarillo,
Elaine Cali, Anaheim Orange County Convention and Visitors Bureau and Wendy Haase, Irvine Convention and Visitors Bureau. As a travel agent, I loved hearing from the destinations about what they look for in working with influencers and about building long term relationships.
Next up was our session with Marcy Massura. A straight talking influencer who shared with us the “behind the scenes” of working with PR agents and agencies. I totally loved hearing from her and became a fan.
Afterwards began our Travel Expo where we learned about working with such agencies as Anaheim Convention & Visitors Bureau, Medieval Times, and BlendIt. Also in attendance was Blogging Concentrated ShareASale, Anaheim Garden Walk, Atlantis Resorts and NYNE
Whew! Good times..good times.
Next, I will be sharing with you a bit about Moms Nite Out, the movie and the cast.
