I just read an interview where she was asked about people questioning her blackness, and she gave the greatest answer and even shared something on her family’s struggle (check the most recent Essence for the full story). It was interesting to see how people assumed she came from a certain family. Blackness isn’t defined by your income, the way you talk or how you dress. It made me like her even more.
