Our book begins in a trailer the California desert. Two guys and a girl are cooking up something in a homemade lab. She plays with a necklace and puts it in her pocket adrift in her thoughts and she wants a cigarette while she twists her hair round her finger. One of the guys, himself already having a moment, tells her to keep watch outside the window. At some point, things go boom.

I didn’t make any resolutions at the beginning of the year and that’s only because I have been bad at the follow thru. At the beginning of each quarter, I work on my goals for the following three months.
